TECAR Therapy in Sector 78, Noida
Deep radiofrequency heating that reaches tissue conventional heat packs cannot — used at the clinic for disc bulges, sciatica, back pain and sports injuries.
What TECAR therapy actually does
TECAR stands for Transfer of Energy Capacitive and Resistive. It is a radiofrequency therapy that generates heat inside the tissue rather than applying heat to the skin surface. That distinction matters: a hot pack warms the first few millimetres and cools within minutes, while TECAR raises temperature at depth — on the clinic's equipment, up to bone level.
Warming tissue at depth increases local blood flow, softens stiff fascia and muscle, and makes the area far more responsive to the hands-on work and exercise that follow. At Dr. Wasim Raja's clinic TECAR is most often used as the opening step of a session, preparing tissue before ShockWave or manual therapy.
Capacitive vs resistive — why both modes matter
- Capacitive mode concentrates energy in soft tissue with high water content — muscle and superficial fascia. This is the mode used for muscular tightness, spasm and trigger points.
- Resistive mode targets denser, more resistive tissue — tendon, ligament, joint capsule and bone. This is the mode that reaches a disc, a tendon insertion or a joint capsule.
Having both modes on one device is what lets a single session address the muscle guarding around an injury and the deeper structure causing it.
Conditions treated with TECAR at this clinic
TECAR is not a standalone cure. It is used at the clinic as part of a plan that also includes manual therapy and a prescribed exercise programme — the exercises are what hold the result.
Your first TECAR session
Assessment first
Dr. Wasim Raja examines the area, reviews any MRI or X-ray you bring, and identifies the structure actually generating your pain. TECAR is only used if it suits the diagnosis.
The treatment itself
A conductive cream is applied and a handheld electrode is moved over the area. Most patients describe a pleasant deep warmth. It is not painful, and there are no needles and no injections.
Afterwards
There is no downtime — you walk out and resume your day. You will be given specific exercises, and doing them is the single biggest factor in whether the relief lasts.
Patients who came for TECAR
I was affected with disc problem. There were disc bulges in L1, L2, L3 & L4. I was unable to work in the kitchen. Pain was running down from back to legs. After taking therapy from Wasim sir for 5 days, I felt a remarkable relief in my pain. He used latest heating technique called TECAR and it worked.
I recently underwent TECAR therapy for my L4-L5-S1 disc bulge with Dr. Wasim, and my experience has been excellent.
I had an excellent experience with physiotherapy here. Dr. Wasim truly has magic in his hands, and the results with TECAR therapy were marvelous. I felt significant relief and improvement in a very short time.
TECAR therapy — common questions
TECAR therapy is used for disc bulges and PIVD, sciatica, chronic lower back and neck pain, frozen shoulder, knee pain, tendinopathies and sports muscle injuries. At Dr. Wasim Raja's clinic in Sector 78 Noida it is most often used for disc-related back pain and sciatica, usually as the first step in a session before manual therapy or ShockWave.
No. Most patients describe TECAR as a comfortable deep warmth rather than anything painful. There are no needles and no injections involved, and the intensity is adjusted to what you find comfortable. You can stop or reduce it at any point during the session.
It depends on the condition and how long you have had it. Acute problems often respond within 3 to 6 sessions, while long-standing or disc-related conditions may need 8 to 15. Dr. Wasim Raja will give you a realistic estimate after assessing you rather than committing you to a package up front.
A heat pack warms only the skin surface and cools quickly. TECAR generates heat within the tissue itself and, in resistive mode, reaches dense structures like tendon, joint capsule and bone. Therapeutic ultrasound also works at depth but through mechanical vibration rather than radiofrequency heating, and the clinic uses both where appropriate.
Many disc bulges respond well to conservative treatment and do not require surgery. Dr. Wasim Raja has treated patients who were advised surgery and recovered with physiotherapy instead. Whether that applies to you depends on your scan findings and symptoms, and it is an honest assessment he will give you at your first visit rather than a guarantee.
